With the experience of design excellence in forty years, Claudio Nardi' s works are all over the world. No matter it is a luxury shop in a fashion city, the villas in the Middle East, even the office building or shopping centre in downtown, his work shows a strong Mediterranean and Italian design. Not only a complete review of the classic works of Nardi, but this book is also an in-depth exploration and interpretation of the Italian style which he represents.

Claudio Nardi, architect, born in Prato on 3/9/1951. He produces architectural projects, for public and private clients, in Italy and, above all, abroad. Amongst the most recent works: museum buildings for Mu.Ca. (Museum of Shipbuilding) in Monfalcone and for MOCAK (Museum of Contemporary Art of Krakow, former Schindler Factory) in Krakow, office buildings for Mandragora Headquarters in Florence, the new headquarters of the Port Authority in Marina di Carrara, Vertex Tower and Office Building in Amman, new Town Hall offices in Krakow, residential and tourist venues such as Apartment Building and Riva Lofts in Florence; recently also the set-up Bridge of Love on the Arno river in Florence. Among the private designs, various residences in Beijing, Parma, Madrid, Tel Aviv, Rome, Marina di Pietrasanta and Civitanova Marche. Among his many projects in the fashion world, there are names like Dolce & Gabbana, Ferrè, Valentino, Malo, Hogan and concept stores in Hanoi, Saigon, Florence (Luisa Via Roma), Rome and Guangzhou. He deals often with the theme of transformation, the relationship between innovation and history, between form and function, between “product” and communication. Every time, his work involves in-depth study, not only in his own sphere of specialisation; every project, even an interior, is to a large extent developed through the use of light, sensitive materials and particular combinations of surfaces, volumes, solids and open space. The roots of a language that is constantly enriched with new expressions can be found in Mediterranean culture and Italian rationalism, but constant experimentation and the experience of new materials and technologies, new and ancient sites, have enabled Nardi to develop innovative themes and functions. In this view, the themes of large-scale architecture, of residential or commercial space, of an art exhibition, all have equal importance and create an interior continuum of active, harmonious transferral of knowledge.
